"Everytime I've had an experience with politics, I've enjoyed it. It's exciting, you meet stimulating people, and one person can make a difference."

Nancy Irsay's interest in politics began when she lived in London as a student and joined the Young Conservatives. In the early 80s, she took a leave of absence from Sears Roebuck & Co. to do public service work on promotional materials for the Richard J. Daley for Mayor campaign.

She created all stationary material, campaign flyers and campaign brochures for the Daley campaign.

In 1998, she ran unsuccessfully for the Indiana House of Representatives. Her campaign motto was: "I'm not running to be someone. I'm running to do something."

"Ever time I've had an experience with politics, I've enjoyed it," says Nancy Irsay. "It's exciting, you meet stimulating people, and one person can make a difference."

Nancy Irsay has no plans to run for office again but says she never rules anything out. She continues to financially support candidates at all levels whose philosophies and platforms she can support. She is active in civic issues in the communities in which she resides and encourages others to be active as well. "I like being on the team," she says.
